DECEMBER 13, 2014: The VERONA sign representing the name of the gated community is up at the entrance along with black iron gates. The first two duplexes are standing. Chipper Dr. and Pacific Dunes Dr are marked on street sign representing the first intersection.
JUNE 7, 2014: Minto Communities is currently building a new gated community with 244 units in Sun City Center on the old Ben Sutton Golf School property off of Chipper Drive.
Ripa Associates of Tampa is the company currently excavating the land. The excavation and construction can also be spotted right outside the windows of the Bunkers Bar and the Sandpiper Restaurant at the Sandpiper Golf Club
Depending on the market, this project could to take up to two years to complete, including selling all the homes. This is the last big project for Minto in Sun City Center unless more land goes up for sale that they can develop.
