Eight more pickleball courts were added across from the new 2020 Building in the King’s Point neighborhood of Sun City Center, FL.
Kings Point is known to have some of the best Pickleball players in the nation and has grown in popularity while one of the three golf courses in the gated community closed down in 2015.
Watch in the video below our local champions, Lewis and Jane, from Kings Point compete against Mark and Diane Bock from The Villages during the Tampa Bay Senior Games 2014 Pickleball 60+ Mixed Doubles.

The Don Senk Field is one of the only fields in Sun City Center that has bleachers, live announcers, a concession stand (with great food) and an electronic score board that can be seen from 100 yards.
This is the same field The Vintage Babes Softball Team organized a LADIES ONE PITCH Tournament in 2013.
With the help of the CA and others, the field was recently resurfaced with a mixture of dirt, sand and other properties that help soften the ground. The softer surface allows a ground ball to bounce in a more predictable fashion resulting in fewer injuries.
Both the Softball Club and the SCC Community Association worked together to get the funds to resurface Don Senk Field making it a safer place for games this year.
Vid Valiusaitis celebrates his 10th hole in one that he made with an eight iron on October 14, 2014 on the Falcon Watch Cypress course in the Kings Point development of Sun City Center, FL. The hole in one was witnessed by Dale Roush, Ron Greiner and Walt Towner.

The short clip named ‘ALL CHAMPIONS’ features these three teams making some awesome shots in the 60+ Mixed Doubles competition on Sunday October 5, 2014 at the Community Center & Sports Complex on South Pebble Beach Blvd.

The Labor Day Tournament at the SCC Lawn Bowling Club was a fun event for all participants. The day included playing Two 10 end games. A refreshing luncheon provided a break between the games and the warm weather.
The lunch committee was chaired by Mel Grazano. She was helped by Corinne Bailiff and two delicious cakes were provided by Gwen Fergusen. The wonderful luncheon was topped off with cooling ice cream, so welcomed by all the participants. A huge Thank You goes to all who helped and donated goodies.
The 1st place winning team, with 2 wins and the highest number of points, were Ben Caudil, Jim Casper and Dave Barrett. Placing 2nd were Ron Wilhelm, Shep Sheppard and Howard Baker.
In addition to all the construction going on at the North Campus, the Bowling Greens are getting a much needed update and resurfacing in preparation for the USA Lawn Bowls Nationals Competition to be held here in SCC in November.
Regional finalists from all over the country will be here to compete and see what a great community SCC is and all it has to offer. This competition will provide a wonderful opportunity for all residents of SCC to come and observe some great lawn bowling. Our club provides free lessons and welcomes all to come and join the fun.
